Leading the Way

October 7, 2016 by PEI Ark Project Team Leave a Comment

In 1978-79, I was a graduate student at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. As part of my studies, I took courses related to housing. As an Islander, I was very pleased to see the Ark featured as a show piece of sustainability in one of the courses. I had visited the Ark and my professor was delighted that I shared my observations. We later visited several examples of energy efficiency in Iowa and Minnesota as part of the course, but none had all the components of the Ark. It creating led the way in sustainability.
